RACE 6: THE TOTE LEPEP MOTHER'S DAY TROPHY - C3 (60-45); 1500m
1. Eli's Connection; 60Kg; Drawn 10; Lacaille.
Is back in this class where he won quite well with a very good finish. Is drawn wide this time. Will surely be ridden from the back again since his trainer did not like Lacaille opting to go forward for his last race. Is a strong contender for this race. First chance if well ridden out!
2. Desert Storm; 59.5Kg (-5); Drawn 5; Bheekary.
Won well last time out though it appeared to be a difficult one. Had to be straightened before moving forward to catch Champ In Action. Will have Bheekary with his 5Kg claim and could follow nicely in midfield or close to the leaders. Will be a danger at the finish if well handled in the straight line.
3. Pivotal Blue; 59.5Kg; Drawn 9; Faucon.
Surprise winner on 1000m with a devastating finish to beat One For The Road last time. Seems to like hot pace and come from behind. Can be in the winner's enclosure once again.
4. Bright Stone; 58.5Kg; Drawn 7; Joorawon.
Came back very late on his last outing on 1000m after being outpaced in the initial stages. 1500m will suit him perfectly and the outside draw is not a problem since it needs more time to go upfront. Can follow and fire or set his own pace. In top form. The main contender according to me.
5. Mendelsohn; 58Kg; Drawn 2; Hall.
Up in class after 2 great wins. Is now facing tougher oppositions and according to me needs a wet going to do well (all his wins on wet going). Is in top form in training and his connections are expecting it to do well this time again.
6. Waves Of Winter; 58Kg; Drawn 3; Spitteri.
Has done well on last time he tried this distance by setting his own pace. His last race has to be ignored since it cannot stay 1850m. Will do well even if he follows the leaders to fire home turn. Good Outsiders chance.
7. Romp In The Forum; 56.5Kg (-4); Drawn 8; Meetoo.
Is a good performer but is this year competition seems to be tough at this age. His outside barrier is not a problem as it can follow in a one off position and take come at the finish. Will have 5Kg claimer again on his back. Can make the top four again.
8. Marcus Antonius; 56Kg (-1.5); Drawn 6; Bussunt.
Will be on his debut on 1500m which is a good one for a middle distance performer. Is highly esteemed by connections and is expected to make a good debut. Can make it on first outing. Likes to run with the pace.
9. Baraloche; 55.5Kg; Drawn 1; Segeon.
Is highly esteemed by his trainer. Needed the last run and did quite well after rest. Can dictate his own pace. Cannot be written off. His stable is in form. Can be a surprise winner.
10. Hero's Hope; 53.5Kg (-1.5); Drawn 4; Azie.
Seems to have lost his form a bit since the beginning of the season. Will come from the back for sure and will have Azie this time on his back. Outsider's chance.
