English Premier League - 30/01/10 - 31/01/10

This week will be marked by the clash between Arsenal F.C andManchester Utd, in the EPL. Who is your favourite to win this match and do you think this match will decide the Championship? Give your views.


Well according to me Man Utd is best placed to bag in the 3 points if we have a look at their previous performances in the EPL. Rooneyis on fire and cannot stop scoring. This is his best season since he has joined Manu from Everton. He has emerged to replace regular goalscores like Ronaldo and Tevez. Manu will surely rely on his form this Sunday to have all three points. Unfortunately, Ferdinand is suspended for 4 matches and will miss this one. On the other hand we have seen an Arsenal side which has slipped a bit in form and now showing there limit as a young squad. They are also short of first team players like Ro Van Persie, Vermalainen, Eduardo etc... . Though they are at home I think it will be missing the likes of Van Persie and Vermalainen at the back. Sol Campbell will make his return to Arsenal in this match and will try to stop Rooney. I predict an easy win for Manu side with 2 goals separating these sides.


Fulham versus Aston Villa is another interesting match where Fulham is a hard nut to crack at home. Aston Villa will be looking to secure all 3 points in this crucial away match after securing 1 point from Arsenal last Wednesday. This will help the Villains find a place in the top four and qualify for the Champions League. But they need to get back to there scoring abilities. They are a good side with a solid defense and midfield. All they need is luck in front of goals. I predict a draw given the good resistance of Fulham at home.


Birmingham is my favourite towin at home against Totenham Hotspur despite there loss to Chelsea last Wednesday at Stamford Bridge. Birmingham City did not lose its 12 matches played till the match they lost against Chelsea who are strong title contenders. Totenham will have to look solid to contain the attacks of Birmingham City.




Chelsea looks favourite to bag the 3 points against a strugglingBurnley side. With or withoutDrogba and Essien they have shown why they are the No.1 contender for the title.


Liverpool is in a very bad position considering its status as top four. This is the worst season of LFC under the management of Benitez. Tomorrow they will be facingBolton Wanderers at home and normally you would say LFC will pass them easily and bag 3 points. But in the actual context you cannot even predict a draw. You never know what will happen.Gerrard is not in top form with Benhayoun and Torres still missing. The back four of LFC is not the one when Carragher was a rock - seems age has taken over. Agger and Skyrtel did not live up to the expectations as well. On the other hand Bolton fared quite well against Arsenal on away trip during the first period with 2 goals lead. I predict LFC to get a difficult win against Bolton though. They have to fight out with other contenders to take the 4th spot synonym to European Champions League Football next year.
